DAY 1: Arrival – Rome – Monte Catini
We will convene at Rome airport, marking the commencement of our journey to the scenic Tuscany region. Amidst the breathtaking natural beauty, we’ll explore the city of Lucca, savoring lunch along the way. Our next destination is Montecatini, a historic town that has served as a retreat for aristocracy since the Middle Ages. Renowned for its hot mineral springs, some dating back to the Renaissance, Montecatini offers traditional restaurants where we may opt for a free evening meal. Following this, we’ll check into our rooms for a restful overnight stay.
Day 2: Monte Catini – Florence – Castellina
Following breakfast, we’ll venture to the enchanting city of Florence, renowned for its artistic treasures, historical monuments, opulent architecture, and bustling markets. Exploring the streets, we’ll indulge in popular street food and discover high-end shops offering a variety of products. Later, we’ll head to the countryside, navigating the scenic wine trail of the Chianti region. Our journey will lead us to Castellina, where we’ll relish a sumptuous dinner, potentially accompanied by a special folkloric celebration, before returning to the hotel.
Day 3: Monte Catini – Siena – San Gimignano
After breakfast, our day will unfold with a visit to the heart of Tuscany, the captivating city of Siena. Renowned for its medieval and Renaissance charm, Siena boasts numerous museums, aristocratic houses, and renowned artworks by celebrated artists. Following this, we’ll journey to the village of Benezia to savor Corino cheese, a uniquely aged sheep cheese known for its exceptional taste and quality.
In the afternoon, we’ll proceed to the enchanting San Gimignano, famed for its UNESCO-listed medieval towers. Meandering through its narrow alleys, we’ll immerse ourselves in the ambiance of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Our day will culminate with a memorable dinner at one of the region’s renowned establishments, A Chef Restaurant, before returning to the hotel.
Day 4: Monte Catini – Bologna – Verona (Valbuccella)
Following breakfast, we will check out of the hotel and set out for the Emilia-Romagna region. Our first stop will be at one of the renowned cheese farms, focusing on Parmesan production. This region is celebrated for Parmesan and the exquisite white wine, Lambrusco. Additionally, we will visit a local winery to indulge in tastings of their exceptional and renowned wines.
Later, we will explore the city of Bologna, often considered one of the most beautiful cities in Emilia-Romagna. While it may not be as widely recognized as some of Italy’s major cities, Bologna is rich in history, boasting the title of the oldest university city globally. The city’s charm is exemplified through its churches, ancient corridors, and historic walls that narrate a profound history. Bologna is also famed for its production of mortadella. Subsequently, we’ll head to the Verona region to check into our rooms and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 5: Verona – Valbocella
Following breakfast, our day kicks off with a visit to the enchanting city of Verona, renowned as the city of Romeo and Juliet. Our exploration will take us to the historic district, featuring Juliet’s house courtyard and the iconic balcony adorned with Juliet’s statue. We’ll then proceed to Piazza delle Erbe and Piazza dei Signori, where the ancient Roman amphitheater, Arena di Verona, stands as the world’s oldest.
Next, we’ll wander through Spice Square, home to the prominent Lamberti Tower offering panoramic views of the city. Subsequently, we’ll venture to the Valpolicella region, characterized by vineyards and located about half an hour from Verona’s city center. Nestled in the agricultural hills, this region is renowned for its marble reserves. Here, we’ll indulge in local salami and wine, celebrated as the second finest after Tuscany’s Chianti region. The experience will culminate in a delightful dinner before returning to the hotel.
Day 6: Verona (Valbuccella) – Garda – Sirmione
Following breakfast, our day unfolds with a visit to Lake Garda. Our first stop will be at the renowned Bardolino wine factory, celebrated for producing some of the most famous wines. From there, we’ll journey to Sirmione, a captivating tourist destination on the southern shores of Lake Garda. In Sirmione, we’ll explore the Scaliger Castle, a tower that once belonged to the powerful Scaligeri family.
Additionally, we’ll have the pleasure of tasting unique gelato varieties crafted by a longstanding family in the ice cream industry, inheriting the art through generations. Our next destination is the Garda region, leading us to the city of Riva del Garda in the northernmost part of Lake Garda. Here, we’ll soak in the breathtaking scenery and may opt for a boat ride to the opposite shore, where the city of Limone awaits. Famous for its lemon production since Roman times, Limone offers a delightful experience with the opportunity to savor the unique taste of limoncello and other lemon-derived products. Then spend the night at the hotel.
Day 7: Verona (Valbocella), Bassano della Grappa – Conegliano
Following breakfast, our journey will lead us to the Veneto region, east of northern Verona. Our destination is Bassano del Grappa, a charming city in the Veneto province renowned for the iconic Ponte Vecchio, a historic wooden bridge stretching over the Brenta River. This bridge offers breathtaking views of the picturesque landscape and surrounding nature.
In Bassano del Grappa, we will explore one of the grappa factories established in 1898. This distillery has earned international acclaim in the spirits category, boasting a legacy of excellence and award-winning craftsmanship. Then spend the night at the hotel.
Day 8: LAST DAY
After having breakfast, taking into account the flight schedule. we’ll head to the airport to catch our flight back home.
